GOOD THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY!

PRAYERS NEEDED!!!

Prayers for those in Moore, Oklahoma!

Prayers for the Newberger family.  Jonathan (3rd from left) has gone to be with the Lord! Lord, please carry this sweet family in your loving arms and fill them with strength, comfort, peace, renewed faith and some sense of understanding.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen. (This photo was taken with Jake, Andrew, Ty and Jonathan, when they were High School Seniors.)

Prayers also for Josh and Halie! Josh was a lineman working for a power company that was repairing electric lines in Shawnee, OK after the storms, and was electrocuted. He's had several surgeries already with more to come and a long road to recovery ahead of him. Lord, please touch this wonderful guy in a miraculous way. Restore his health and heal his body completely.  Remove the pain, draw him closer to you and use this tragedy to glorify YOUR name.  In Jesus' name I pray, amen.  (Halie is the daughter of my very good friend that I teach with, and was on American Idol!)

Remember - Lift up your heart. Each new hour holds new chances for new beginnings. The horizon leans forward, offering space to place new steps of change here on the pulse of this fine day...look up and out and into your heart.

...WHERE THE WIND COMES SWEEPING DOWN THE PLAINS......

They say that "only in Texas" can it be 80 degrees one moment and 40 degrees the next.  Well, that's just what happened. Yesterday, it was 82 degrees at 3:15 when I was doing my car duty at school.  By 3:21 it dropped 10 degrees as a generous gust of wind filled the tree lined streets and continued to blow all night with some MUCH needed rains.  By 12:45am, when the hail pinged off my bedroom window to the west and woke me up, it had dropped to 32 degrees. I recklessly skipped two stairs at a time, with only the light of my cell phone, on my way up to get Zack.  We had to put vehicles in the barn before anymore hail plummeted to the earth.  We both flew out the door, zipping up jackets and shielding our eyes from the driving hail.  Luckily it was only the size of large peas.  In what seemed like only moments, the vehicles were safe inside the barn, without damage, and we were darting back to the house. The hail had already frozen to my hair as we took refuge inside the warm, dry house.  This morning, after the luminous night-long lightning displays and loud cracks of thunder, we were left with these images...

Yup, that's hail!

This field was emerald green yesterday...

Anything left open to the elements was encased in thick ice...

Now, this is how to spend a cold, windy, icy April day!
