Luanne made their banner by hand and their cause was called: TOUGH ENOUGH TO WEAR PINK
That was Wednesday afternoon and by Thursday evening, God blessed us with some wonderful, desperately needed rain!
It even hailed!!
This is Jake heading off to work at the local rodeo. He wouldn't turn around to get his picture taken, so I just took one anyway...that boy! He's working each night of the rodeo, moving stock, draggin' pens and Lord knows what else!

I don't usually watch Oprah, but since I was crippled up and confined at the house, I happened to turn it on one day and was in awe of the one that was on.....an exclusive inside look at Ralph Loren's Rocky Mountain Double RL Ranch......I don't know where to begin, except to add that it's kinda rednecky to take pictures of what's on your t.v. I couldn't help it - ol' Ralph and Ricky's mountain compound was absolutely breathtaking...even if you can't see it too well off the t.v.
VISITING ON THE PORCH
One of five hand-painted tipi guest dwellings...
complete with beds, couches, desks and chairs
a bit distorted...oops!
Horses, Cattle, Mountains, Fresh Air, Wide-Open Spaces...God's Perfection!
RUSTIC, BUT OH SO CHIC!
ICONIC IN EVERY WAY! (Nice tornado watch alert in the top corner!)
Ricky's 1st public interview...dressed in buttery soft, fringed buckskin pants, matching vest:handpainted and beaded, chambray, turquoise, silver and sheer joy, appreciation and strong spirituality!
It was warm, beautiful, honest, simple, humble and TOTALLY AMAZING! That's the exact look that I have been going for all these years! I'm going to fast for the next month and then only put in my mouth the food that this earth provides....I'm going to check Ebay out to find some of those din-o-mite buckskin leggin's and get some permanent hair extensions put in...
All kidding aside, what I loved the most, besides the quintessential western paradise that they've created for themselves, was that when they started out, they had nothing! He started his vision and passion for design by selling ties when he was 16 years old. That's what makes success, success. He didn't inherit millions and was not raised around the luxury and leisure of wealth...but, HE KNEW WHAT HE WANTED AND HE DIDN'T SETTLE FOR ANYTHING LESS.
It was a great interview, great scenery and I hobbled away with a deep sense of what this country called America is truly made of and stands for...
...and after I hobbled away, I started my housecleaning list.....and thanked God for the soaking rains.
